How can I change my address or contact information for my immigration or citizenship application?
You must always keep your contact information updated.
We may have tried to contact you about your application or status with your old information. If your contact information has changed, update your information right away.
To change your address only
You can change your address using either the
- web form, or
- online change of address service
- You can only use this service if you meet the requirements below:
- you applied on paper
- your case is being processed in Canada
- your address is in Canada
- you are moving within 3 weeks or have already moved
- you must also have either
- sponsored a member of the family class
- applied for permanent residence from within Canada
- applied for a permanent resident card
- applied for Canadian citizenship (for yourself or for a person adopted by a Canadian citizen)
- applied for proof of citizenship (citizenship certificate)
- applied to renounce or resume Canadian citizenship, or
- applied for a search of the citizenship records
